Moldova adjusts DST timing
The government of Moldova has decided to adjust the timing of the start and end of daylight saving time to coincide with the rest of Europe.
Daylight saving time (DST) in Moldova has since 1996 been starting at 02:00 local time on the last Sunday of March, and ending at 03:00 local time on the last Sunday of October. This is one hour earlier than the rest of the DST-observing European countries.
Although the formal time of the DST transitions in Moldova has been one hour earlier than Europe, the transitions have in practice been taking place at the same time as Europe since 2022. The new resolution issued by the Moldavian government only formalises the coordination of the transition times with Europe.
Most European countries observe daylight saving time, starting at 01:00 UTC on the last Sunday of March and ending at 01:00 UTC on the last Sunday of October. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Iceland, Russia and Türkiye do not observe daylight saving time.
