Morocco changes time zone to permanent GMT

Morocco's head of government Aziz Akhannouch announced today that Morocco will change time zone offset to GMT (same as UTC) at 02:00 on 20 September 2026, and stop observing daylight saving time.
The change also applies to Western Sahara.
Morocco is currently observing GMT +1, except for during Ramadan, when the time has been set one hour back, to GMT.
